The Africana library houses a special collection relating to Africa. The purpose is to develop a knowledge-base about Africa for research purposes. University's theses and dissertations are also kept in this unit. This section operates on a closed stack system and material can only be loaned for two (2)) hours.

University Archives :

The Archives Section is placed in the library, presently attached to the Africana Section. The Archives sub-division has been established to appraise, collect, organize, make available and preserve records of historical, legal, fiscal, and/ administrative value to the University of Limpopo.

The Africana collects and preserves archival material concerned with the University's administration, staff, and students, functions, history, and development.
